Yacht Tourism Development

The Development Bureau (DEVB) invited the market to submit expression of interest (EOI) within three months for marina development at the expansion area of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter on 24 January 2025. Subsequently, Development Bureau receives eight EOI submissions. Please click here for the relevant press release.

IISO briefed the Development Planning Committee of the Southern District Council about the latest situation of the proposed Yacht Tourism Development at the Expansion Area of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter on 27.3.2026. The land and waterbody involved in the project will be disposed for market bidding for integrated development under the “large-scale land” approach. It is expected to provide approximately 200 berthing spaces for yachts and supporting landside facilities with topside residential development. Agreement No. CE 26/2025 (CE) - Study on Marina Development at the Expansion Area of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter – Feasibility Study

    To study the feasible development scenario(s) for the construction and operation of marina at the expansion area of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, and firm up the development parameters and requirements for the marina, for undertaking various technical assessments and the necessary statutory procedures, with the target of land tender by the first half of 2027.
